Paul & Rachel's Wedding

It was the 15th of December, 2001. But things didn't start there....

Preparations

First, there was the stag and hen 'do's. A time in which we said farewell to the single life.

The stag do got off to a flying start

More pictures of this particular event are on Stuart's web site

Rachel prefers the Princess to the Lady Godiva look

The Morning

It all kicked off at an unreasonably early time for a Saturday, as we gathered at 9:30 a.m. at Hull Registry Office (we were both early, you'll be pleased to note) and before you could say "SMILE PLEASE" we were legally Mr & Mrs Ganney

The party before we all got changed

And then it was off to the Holiday Inn for breakfast and the first champagne of the day.

More Precise Preparations

After this, we dashed to the reception (more later) to set up some decorations, then Rachel left Paul (a recurring theme in the first few years of our married life) to get ready. She had help, of course...

Rhianne advises Rachel on which shoes to wear

Jane advises Rachel not to do it. Too late!

The Afternoon

4:45pm and Stuart decides to worry Paul by announcing he's just seen a limo go by. No worries, though, as Rachel doesn't appear until 5:05.

Everything was as we wanted it, our (very talented) friends decorated and lit the Church (St. Columba's, Holderness Rd)

Thanks James, Peter & all in Credo

The music was excellent

Paul & Rachel are hiding at the back of the group

And Credo sent us up, then sent us into married life

And suddenly it was all over

The Evening

Our reception was held at Mr Chu's on St Andrew's Quay and the owners & staff had done a fabulous job for us

Jack, Char-chi & Tracey continue to be calm

The excellent food was followed by five speeches (Chas, Rachel, Paul, Kath, Nigel)
Chas tries to read his speech after soaking it in champagne Rachel tries to remember her speech, having left it at Hannah's Paul auditions for Spandau Ballet

We cut the cake

Note all those wonderful pressies....

And then Rachel threw her bouquet...

The girls at the front ducked, of course

...which was caught by Eliza, Dave's fiancee. Their wedding is next year.

The evening was rounded off with an excellent disco (thanks, Geoff)
Helen and the girls do Steps Rachel & Paul get smoochy Jason & James get silly
